Right out of the chute, an interesting thought has popped up in cyberspace about Randy Orton's “ Accident” . Funny thing is there are no independent sources that can confirm that an accident even happened . WWE.com is the only one that is reporting that the accident even happened . That coupled with the fact the statement he's putting out that he was run off the road seems a little bit obvious to an organization that has faked its CEO's death on national TV. While this might be a good angle to explore , as lazy as they can be about following through on complex storylines I don't see this working out to their advantage.
The contents of Kanes little burlap bag was revealed this past in the Monday and I have to say I didn't see this one coming . I thought for sure that he was toting around his old mask and was going to put it back on for awhile . But reach the same impass as before . Until they follow through on one of these complex storylines they dream up, its just a vicious cycle that keeps repeating its self.
The next subject is somewhat personal to me. Mick Foley , the hard core legend , contract is expiring the first of September and there is a lot of talk about Mick not resigning . Today there's a lot of talk about him going south and working for the other side . In the physical state that he is in he doesn't need to be involved a lot of in ring matches that he isn't ready to deal with. But if they put him in certain strategic points it could make things really interesting .
About one of the main events this Sunday, from what I've read over the past few months , Khali's knees are about all but shot and it appears that the company is planning to ride this big Indian horse into the ground and then send him off to the glue factory. A side from the obvious problems with that , if HHH has to carry him in a main event on A PPV, you run the risk of HHH getting hurt also and we all know that they don't want that.
The midsummer purges of the lower end talent have begun. The biggest names being Big Daddy V , Shannon Moore, Nunzio, Domino, ref Nick Patrick, Stevie Richards , Colin Delany , both Highlanders and Diva Cherry.the only real shock in this Delaney given the time they have spent pushing him and then turning him Heel. I have a sinking suspicion that Tommy Dreamer's days are numbered .
After the past few shows and the spoiler I read about tonight's show, I think they have slid back into lazy mode on the creative side . For a company that is trying to bust up its show going to a new network, their not doing a very good job.
As for TNA, the sudden appearance of guitars as weapons in the main event Sunday and two different matches on Thursday can only mean one thing . Jeff Jarret has been backstage for months working out the kinks in the show and know it would appear he's ready to get back into the ring. On another TNA front , there is a effort to introduce a new masked character using the new video game and a my space page to bring back Kaz. To me this is a mistake . Frankie Kazerian is without a doubt the most under used talent in either company. While this angle gets a lot of points for uniqueness , Kaz's in ring ability should count for more and with an angle like this the wrestler can get lost in the story. And according to more then web site , Tomko was backstage at Tuesdays taping of Smack Down.
And now my predictions for Sunday night . I have no idea what HBK is going to announce but I don't think he's retiring just yet. The winner takes all tag team match pitting Mickie and Kofi against Beth Phoenix and Santino . With the angle that they are working Marella and the Glamazon , I cant help but think that Santino will be wearing the Woman's belt and Beth will get the IC strap in some sort of swurve . MVP goes up and against Jeff Hardy and I really think this is the beginning of a long feud between the two. MVP has spoiled two matches with Shelton Benjamin , one of which was a title shot this past week . He also laid out Benjamin when he missed Hardy so there could be a three way in the near future for all three of them. Cena and Batista is another one that's gonna take some time to flesh out so I say MVP and Batista when win this Sunday. Matt Hardy has a huge task in taking on ECW champ Mark Henry . Im thinking that this feud is going to carry over into the Tuesday show but I cant see both Hardy's winning on the same show. The next two are a lock. With the health issues that both JBL an Khali have I don't see either of them going on long title runs . And as I said earlier in this article , if HHH has to carry Khali through the whole match, that puts his health on the line as well. The Main event puts Undertaker against Edge in the most brutal match that the WWE has to offer. I have no doubt that Taker will win ,but given the way the TLC match went, this one could be a real stain.
Well that's it for know, hope to have something up Sunday or Monday.
