Xena from the series Xena Warrior Princess is an excellent role model for many reasons. First, she shows that a person who once was a warlord, could change their ways and accept responsibility for past deeds.
From another standpoint, she shows that a woman can be whatever she wants to be, and just as ruthless and as strong as any man. Gabrielle found Xena interesting not only because of past deeds but because she wanted to do well and because she wanted to travel, help people, and learn. Of all the things she knew, Gabrielle knew that Xena could defend herself.
Xena put an end to Alti whom she met when she ran into the Amazons. She had wanted Xena to become the Destroyer of Nations. Xena in the beginning craved power and was ready and willing to take on the challenge. Later she would put an end to Alti and her evil ways.
They helped many people along in their travels, and Xena put right some of her wrong doings. When Xena originally traveled to the Norse lands, and learned of the Rheingold, that was all she thought of. She helped Grinhilda 35 years later and put everything back to normal.
Her biggest challenge was putting an end to Julius Caesar. It took Xena and Gabrielle to bring down his empire.
Callisto was also a great problem for Xena, after she had killed her parents. Callisto was forever seeking revenge on Xena. Callisto also could not stand that Xena was now a good doer and would not even put her to death to take her out of her misery.
Xena in her travels worked to help Lao Ma after her death. Lao Ma had taught her ways of the Chinese and wanted to put right the error of her ways by following Lao Ma's teachings.
She also helped her daughter Eve, who was suppose to be the destroyer of the Gods. Eve was following Xena's example thanks to Aries, the God of War, and Xena worked and was able to get through to her daughter and help her on her journey.
The biggest struggle Xena ever had to face was the one with Gabrielle. Gabrielle gave birth to her daughter Hope. Hope was a baby of pure evil. Gabrielle could not believe that her baby could be that bad. Gabrielle and Xena faced off over Hope many times. Gabrielle finally saw her daughter for who she was, and was thankful that neither she, nor Gabrielle was the ones who destroyed her.
Xena gave up her life for 40,000 souls, but walks with Gabrielle in her travels still helping people. She and Gabrielle are always facing off against evil. They are soul mates, are reincarnated, and return to each other repeatedly.
