Martha Kent of the television series Smallville is a role model. She is married to Jonathan Kent, and the mother of Clark Kent. She is supportive to both her husband and her son. Originally, from Metropolis, both Lionel Luthor and Jonathan Kent had been interested in her, but she chooses Jonathan Kent. She is always volunteering to help charities, and to make extra money she often makes pies from their garden, which she sells, to the public. She helps on the farm any way she can. She has helped the family as far as working at the Talon for Lana Lang. Martha is the accountant, and often takes care of the business end of the farm.
When Lois Lane came to stay with them, Chloe Sullivan's cousin, she had no problem. She even takes over Jonathan's spot in government after his death. She is always working to help the underdog. Then, Martha always loved to pick up strays.
Like her husband, she protects Clark's secret. In addition, she, like Jonathan, believes and always wants him to do the right thing. Martha also encourages Clark to date, where he often stands back like a wallflower. Both she and her husband just do not want Clark to go out for sports.
She works very hard, which is why she ends up working for Lionel Luthor, and is an asset to have around. She knows how to work well with a business whether things are up or down.
