The character Peter Petrelli, from the television series Heroes is a role model because of the ways that he looks at people. It is very commendable that he paid his way through school to become a hospice nurse despite the fact that his father disagreed with his choice. It shows he is not afraid to take life into his owns hands, as indeed he did. He is also not afraid to stand up to his older brother Nathan; he often looks after him with brotherly love.
When he learns he has the power of mimicry, he saw how he could use his powers to help people. Peter has great empathy and it is that which connects him to his power. He also wants to learn everything he can about himself and how to control his powers. If the world needed to be saved, he was more than willing to give it a try. When Hiro Nakamura came to Peter with “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World,” Peter rushed right in, ready and willing to meet Hiro more than half way. It is those thoughts and feelings, which greatly connected him to Claire Bennet. It was why she would always be able to rely on him for help.
In a dream when he sees that he is the one who destroyed New York City he is willing to accept death if he cannot control his power. He gives the responsibility of his death to people who he knows will follow through if it can prevent millions of deaths.
Peter always wants to do the right thing, when he is lead astray by Adam Monroe, and is faced with fighting Nathan, Hiro and Matt Parkman he learns he is wrong, and wises up before more wrong can be done.
The only thing he regrets is accidently bringing Caitlin McKenna to the future, and being unable to return with her. He realizes his mistake but learns he is unable to control his power to return. All he can do is work to stop a future he did not want to see happened.
Despite any of his failings, he learns and works to grow. He stands up for what he believes is right. He gives all of himself to help all the people he is able to, especially when it comes to saving the world.
