This group originated in the early 90's in Hollywood. They were to be a burlesque type group that seemed to develop into an actual singing group and have had a number of hit songs.
I didn't care for the first season very much and after watching a few episodes of this season, I don't really care for it much either. I am not a big fan of the singing group and I don't know why these girls would put themselves through such ridicule. Every episode I have watched the judge's comment on how certain girls aren't sexy enough. How insulting is this? I feel so bad for the girls that are standing up there in skimpy, tight, little clothes baring almost all of their rear ends and singing their hearts out to only be told, "You're not being sexy enough". They just stand there with either blank stares or confused looks on their faces. I wonder why did they bother to try out? It doesn't seem to matter if they know how to sing.
There are three judges that make their comments after each performance from the last ten girls. There are two female judges that seem to critique the girl's appearances and styles more than their ability to sing while the only male judge critiques everything. Inevitably the judges decide who they are going to let go instead of letting the viewers vote.
Each week the girls continue to struggle trying to be as sexy as they can. More make-up is put on their faces, less clothing is worn, higher boots are pulled up to their knees, and extensions are added to the girls with short hair while the ones with long hair get their hair shortened. It's all a bit ridiculous and it makes you not like yourself very much. No matter what these girls seem to do it just doesn't seem to be good enough. There are many girls that try out for this show that are really pretty and have plenty of talent but don't make it through. My recommendation to them is to try out on another talent show that will offer them better chances in making it as a singer. They will also be able to keep their clothes on too!
