Because I've been a student most of my life, I've had the luxury of spending my lunch hours at home watching The Price Is Right. You can imagine how it saddened me to hear that Bob Barker was retiring. Here are some things I really miss about the old geezer.
Help Control the Pet Population
Of course his ongoing dedication to animal rights is simply amazing. It was also great when pets from the local animal shelter were brought in for showcasing.
Running Away from Contestants
Some contestants down-right frightened him. Whether it was their size or their extreme level of excitement, he knew that the only way to protect his frail little body was to run far away until they calmed down.
Helping the Old Folks Spin the Wheel
I think they were younger than him much of the time.
Yelling at Contestants
If the contestants were taking more than five seconds to spit out their bids he would yell at them to hurry up. If still no response, he would actually tell them he's moving on without them if they didn't hurry up.
The Kisses
At times, it was obvious he was dreading those kisses from women, especially the ones who were overtaken by extreme excitement.
Statistics
He would get so excited when something rare happened. He always wanted know the date of that last occurrence and how many times it actually happened.
Getting Peeved
This would occur when contestants stood on the wrong side of him. I think he would actually fling them when they wouldn't stand where they were directed.
Knowing Where the Wheel Would Land
The value wouldn't even be in eye range most of the time and he would know where it was or wasn't going to land.
