“The Bachelor: London Calling” is, at this point, just as confusing and dizzying as it normally is at the beginning of the season. We have had some bachelors who take it slow and have a bit more finesse than others. At other times, we have had playboys who jump at the chance for each make-out session, with as many girls as possible, right from the beginning. Well, Matt (from London) seems to find our American women “amazing”, “beautiful, “sex kitten(s)”, funny, and obviously very attractive. At least attractive enough that when he gets each one alone, even though there are many girls still on the show this early in the season, he is overcome with the desire to engage in a make-out session with whichever one is handy at the moment.
The season is already ripe with catfights and attacking the one girl they all perceive to be the biggest threat. Holly, a 25 year old Children's Book Author, received the first one on one date of the evening, going to a premier of “Maid of Honor”, starring Patrick Dempsey, for a private showing with Matt. After retiring to the penthouse suite, amid bubble bath, candles, and physical attraction apparent, Holly received the first kiss of the night. Only they know what happened after that but given London's playboy attitude, Matt surely went just as far as Holly allowed. Of course, Matt had already given her a rose before he began his seduction of her.
A rugby group date revealed nothing more than Matt sneaking away with several girls to engage in a clandestine make-out session one at a time. He took the girls to his home and they were more than happy to slip into their not so modest bikinis to go for a swim with London's finest. Kelly gives Matt a massage of her own and Robin gets him in the hot tub for another make-out session. This earns her vicious attacks by those seemingly sweet natured All-American girls (only while they are in the Bachelor's company, of course). Yet Robin declares she is in competition and willing to fight for it.
The final one on one date is with Shayne, a 22 year old actress. Matt sums up his date beforehand with the simple words “Hot date, hot girl, in a hot car”, later referring to her as a “sex kitten”. Needless to say, a hot and heavy make-out session was just about all their date consisted of even after Matt expressed concerns about her “wait and see” attitude about marriage because he claims he is ready “now”.
In the end, the Londoner describes tough decision with an expression from home, “I'm in a ripe pickle”.
Holly, Shayne, and Robin all earned their roses ahead of time on their dates. And the final roses, in order, go to: Amada, Ashlee, Kelly, Chelsea, Noelle, and Marshana.
Might the Londoner find himself in another “ripe pickle” before this season's Bachelor ends? Most likely there will be many.
