Derek kidnapped Peyton
He had her tied up in her basement. He told her how much he missed her. He revealed to her that he was the cop who told her that he was in custody. He wanted to have a private prom with her. He told her that the worst part about their breakup was losing his pictures of her. The man is a complete nut job. What in the world was the point of going after her again? Lucas called her, but Derek heard it. Derek said he could let Lucas take her to the prom because he didn't want her to give herself to him. He wanted her all to himself.
He sent a text message to Lucas that said Peyton was on her way to the prom. Then he dropped her phone and stomped on it.
Brooke went to Peyton's house to look for her. She found the spare key and went inside. What she didn't know was Derek was watching her. Brooke found Peyton, but Derek caught her. Peyton tried to warn her, but her mouth was gagged. Derek ended up sticking Brooke with the sedative. I thought it was great that Brooke was the one who tried to save her considering what they went through.
Derek tied Brook up too. Brooke and Peyton started arguing. Derek wanted to get rid of Brooke, but Peyton wanted to do it for him. He didn't believe her at first. She had to convince him that she was like him. She slapped and punched Brooke. Derek still didn't trust Peyton when she wanted the knife. She kissed him and tried to sweet talk him into believing her. When he gave her the knife, she made it look as if she was going to stab Brooke. Instead she stabbed Derek. I don't know why she didn't stab him in the heart. It looked as if she got part of his shoulder. She could have stabbed him in the neck. He might not have gotten up if she did stab him in the neck. When she tried to untie Brooke, he was able to get the knife out of him and decided to kill her first instead of Brooke.
Peyton took off running and left Brooke behind. Lucky for Brooke he didn't change his mind and go after her. When Derek found Peyton in her room, she shocked him with a taser. She tried using her self-defense, but it didn't work. He got the upper hand on her. Brooke tried to keep him from raping her. The three of them were in a fight. Brooke and Peyton used a cheerleader move to knock him down the stairs. It was so great to see them working together to beat him up. I felt like I was watching a horror movie when he popped up. Peyton kicked him in the face and hew as knocked out. She wanted to be left alone with him. She started kicking him again. She probably wanted to get her closure. Shockingly, Derek didn't die. I figured he was dead after what Brooke and Peyton did.
Brooke and Peyton finally made up. Amazingly, Peyton wanted to go to the prom. After what she went through, you would think she wouldn't want to go to the prom.
The Prom
The other half of the episode picked up at the prom. Lucas and Brooke were worried about Peyton. Rachel showed up at the prom. Principal Turner was going to call the police on her. She wanted someone to go party with her. No one did it until Mouth volunteered to go. Rachel dropped a potential secret about Principal Turner. She said her lawyer would get in touch with him about the sexual harassment. I wonder if he did sexually harass her.
Dan got a card that scared him. Someone at the prom knows he was a murderer. He also got text messages about what he did. With Glinda showing up out of the blue, it was a safe bet that she was the one torturing Dan. Why else would she be shown again after so long?
Mouth opened up to Rachel about Shelly. She said that she was jealous of his relationship with her. She had perfect timing to tell him that. She admitted to him that she wanted a dance with Mouth for why she lied about her flight. Rachel wanted him to go away with her. After hesitation, he decided to go with her.
Dan wanted to know if it was impossible for him and Karen to get back together. She said that it wasn't impossible. I think it would have been interesting to see them get back together. Unfortunately, that was ruined since he is a killer. Dan found a phone in the hall where Keith was killed. He thought it was Lucas's phone, but it wasn't. I'm not sure, but I think Lucas might have figured out that Dan killed Keith. It was hard to tell by his expression so I'm just going to assume he knows.
