Carl, their teacher, wanted the students to get to know each other
The kids were in class and for some reason, the teacher wanted them to label each other. I understand that he wanted the kids to get to know each other, but did he have to embarrass them to do it? He made a girl named Shelly put Mouth on the spot. She ended up having to call him a geek. I'm sure he was mortified. The teacher also wanted Lucas to tell him the last name of a girl named Glinda. He couldn't do it. This made the teacher decide to pair the kids up with each other so they could get to know each other better. They had to tell each other something personal. Shelly was with Mouth. Lucas was with Glinda. Haley was with Skillz. Peyton traded with Brooke so she could get Chase. Peyton was with Nathan. Rachel was with Bevin. Why didn't someone make the students do this sooner? Maybe Jimmy wouldn't have held the students hostage. I guess it's better late than never.
Chase found out that Brooke lied
During the school project, the teacher revealed that Brooke was failing calculus. He was upset because she was tutoring him when her grades are worse than his. She ended up confessing to him that she stole the answers to the math test.
The kids were getting to know each other
*Lucas told Glinda that he wants to be a writer. He showed her his manuscript. Linda told him how she stole her mother's earrings. She also said that her mother loves the earrings more than her.
*Nathan showed Peyton how he put her initials on a weight machine. Peyton showed him her hand because she punched a wall after they broke up.
*Shelly told Mouth why she started Clean Teens. She told him how she saw her old boyfriend with another girl. He told her how his middle name is Leonardo. That was really deep right? LOL!
*Brooke told Chase how her parents haven't called her in over a month. That's a shame that they did that to her, but that doesn't excuse her behavior. Chase told her that he wants to be a pilot.
*Haley told Skillz how she wants to be a mother and leave her mark on the world. She also wanted to be a teacher. Skillz told her how he would end up working at a factory where his father works if he didn't get a scholarship.
We really didn't get to learn much about Rachel. The only thing we did get to see was Rachel getting high. This really didn't surprise me. You can add it on to the numerous problems that she has. She is such a wasted character. She has no purpose other than to cause trouble for herself and others. Bevin revealed that she wants to know what it's like to be a man. I certainly didn't see that reveal coming.
The students told each other secrets. Some of them didn't really seem like secrets. I was expecting to hear some juicy secrets, but that didn't happen. It was good to see the kids bonding with each other even though they didn't all really share big secrets.
How long was their assignment
The students had to do their assignment for 50 minutes. They all went their separate ways and it seemed to last a long time. Fifty minutes doesn't usually drag out for an entire episode. I was also wondering why they had to do this assignment during a school day. Why couldn't they do it after school? I guess that was the only class they had that day.
Mouth and Shelly kissed
I guess Mouth is over Gia. He certainly didn't waste any time kissing Shelly. She said she was afraid of being alone with him and he ended up kissing her. I wonder if they are going to end up being a couple.
Hopefully the assignment they had will help the students get closer. I hope that it won't be something that will last for more than one episode. It's good to see them bond with other people instead of just hanging out with each other.
