A line caught my attention while watching an episode of the only sitcom I watch: House. Apparently, this man was misdiagnosed to have cancer and was given only three more months to live. He then did what he ought to do with his properties, travelled to places he wanted to see, did things he wanted to do, just about everything a dying person would if he knew about his pending death.
He should be happy, you might say, for he is not yet going to die. He doesn't have cancer, and he will have many more days and months and years to enjoy. But instead, he decided to sue the doctor. The doctor was surprised because for the first time in his life, he will be sued to making his client better and for letting him know that he is well and won't be dying soon. In other words, he will be sued for a right diagnosis.
The client sat quietly and said, "You gave me happiness, but now you're taking it away." And then he left, leaving the doctor speechless.
We've heard it many times, live life as if there's no tomorrow. But there IS tomorrow. Should you not be thankful for another day? Not for some people when they are finally living in the moment, the time when they believe it's their chance to live carefree, the one chance they can do something really good for themselves.
How sad life can be.
So what do we do? Join the cliché, live life as if there's no tomorrow (just don't spend everything to save some when the right time comes).
