Desperate Housewives 4.7

Victor confronted Gaby about her affair with Carlos. Bree told Susan that she thought Mike was addicted to drugs. A new Hodge family member meets the neighbors.

Gaby always has an excuse ready

Victor knew about Gaby's affair with Carlos. He wanted to take Gaby away on a boat ride. He didn't want her to tell anyone. While they were on the boat, Victor confronted Gaby about her affair with Carlos. She actually tried to blame Victor for her affair. She said he was working all of the time. It felt like déjà vu since she told Carlos the same thing a couple of years ago. Apparently, every man who is “lucky” enough to be with her has to be around her 24/7. If they are busy and can't be with her, then she will have no other choice but to cheat again. When is Gaby going to take responsibility for her actions? She never blames herself for anything. She blamed Carlos for her affair with John. He was working too much and she had no other choice. She did the same thing with Victor. Well, actually, she did that to him twice. First, she blamed his long hours for her infidelity. Second, she almost killed him by knocking him overboard twice. She could have possibly killed her husband, but that's not her fault either. I am sure she will get away with attempted murder. Why shouldn't she? She was able to keep getting away with cheating so she will get away with that too. Gaby is really turning into Susan since she keeps ending up in one fix after another.

Lynette wanted to kick her mother out

I know that Lunette's mother was really difficult, but she was there for her when she needed her. She even gave Lynette and Tom her last $10,000 to help them out. Once Lynette's diagnosis was good, she suddenly had a problem with overcrowding. It's funny how she seemed to have enough room in her house when she was sick. Now that she's better, her house is too crowded. Give me a break! As I said, I know her mother is difficult and she's a bad influence, but she had nowhere else to go. That didn't seem to matter to Lynette. She tried to pass her mother of on her sisters. Lucy said she lived with her for two years, but that was enough. Lynette's other sister let their mother stay with her for a year. They didn't want her to stay with them because she was causing too many problems. Lynette only had to live with her for four months, but she was complaining. She did finally agree to let her mother stay with her family, but she didn't want her sisters to visit for a few years since they said they didn't care about their mother. What right did she have to get mad at them when she didn't want her mother to stay with her either? I think she only wanted her mother to stay out of guilt and not gratitude. It would have been nice to hear Lynette say how she was grateful for what her mother did for her.

Bree went behind Orson's back

Orson didn't want Benjamin (the baby) to be circumcised, but she did. She decided to wait until Orson was asleep and she took the baby to a Bris. She had the baby circumcised anyway. I thought that was so wrong. She didn't have to do that behind Orson's back. She didn't think about Orson's feelings at all. She just did what she thought was right and didn't care. I wasn't surprised that Orson assumed that Bree didn't consider him to be Benjamin's father. She talked her way out of the argument, but the damage was done. Benjamin was still circumcised so she can't undo what she had done. I wonder if Orson will get upset about it in another episode.

Mike's addiction

Mike is suddenly addicted to pain killers. He claimed it was because he was hurting himself trying to make extra money. If Susan weren't so busy making his addiction her moment, she might have been suspicious of him. Susan seemed more concerned with how Mike thought she was why he was taking drugs. She even through the baby up at him. Of course he was going to tell her that he would quit using the drugs. If he really were just taking them for pain, then he could have told her about it. He wouldn't have said anything about them if Bree didn't tell Susan about the drugs in the first place. He did the predictable “I-can-quit-if-I-want-to” speech and threw the drugs down the drain. The second Susan was asleep, he got his wrench and was opening the pipe in order to get the drugs. She should have made him throw the pills in the toilet. There would have been no way for him to get them back if he flushed them down the toilet.
